Myofascial Release is a soft tissue therapy technique.

Myofascial release can be used to help treat problems with your muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves.

There are many aches and pains that can be helped by using myofascial release. Headaches, neck pain, back pain, hip pain, knee pain, ankle pain, foot pain, rotator cuff tears and injuries, carpal tunnel syndrome, and tennis elbow are some of the commonly treated problems that myofascial release therapy can help resolve. If you have any of these problems, ask your chiropractor if they think that your treatment would benefit from myofascial release.

These pain problems typically occur from overuse and repetitive strain injuries

Overuse of the muscles and tendons can lead to repetitive micro-trauma occurring in the tissues. If these microtraumas do not fully heal, this can lead to a cycle of injury-> pain-> disorganized healing-> more pain.

Sometimes this cycle can begin with a traumatic injury. The initial injury may not heal appropriately, leading to decreased circulation, dysfunctional healing capacity, and increased likelihood of repetitive injury.

Myofascial release is a useful tool your chiropractor may use to help you recover and have lasting results.
